TIF and New Seafront, the Eastern City Center
The TIF (Thessaloniki International Fair) and New Seafront area is one of the city’s most recognizable spots. It hosts TIF, Greece’s largest annual trade fair (every September), and offers 5+ kilometers of seaside promenade overlooking the Thermaic Gulf.
Along the New Seafront you’ll find contemporary sculptures, the Zongolopoulos “Umbrellas” (the city’s most photographed spot), playgrounds for kids, and a bike lane. It’s an ideal space for morning runs, evening walks, or afternoon coffee overlooking the sea.
What to Visit
Beyond the seafront, the area hosts the Thessaloniki Concert Hall (top venue for classical concerts and opera), the White Tower (symbol of the city), and the Royal Theater. Around it you’ll find restaurants serving Mediterranean cuisine, cafés with terraces, and beach bars in summer months.
